Data from the Central Statistical Office show that in the third quarter of 2013, there were 56 million active mobile phone numbers registered in Poland. Compared to the third quarter of 2012, this is an increase of 5.4 percent.

Slightly more than half (54%) are prepaid numbers, or pay-as-you-go phones. The remaining 46% were purchased as part of a subscription.
